Leafy Greens Could Help Fight The Flab:Eating more plant-based foods, which are rich in substances called phytochemicals, could help fight obesity, according to a new study.
The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Florida, showed that phytochemicals prevent oxidative stress in the body, a process associated with obesity.
To get enough of these protective phytochemicals, the researchers suggest eating plant-based foods such as leafy greens, fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes at the start of a meal.
Heather K. Vincent, Ph.D., the lead author of the study, said that using what is known as a phytochemical index, which compares the number of calories consumed from plant-based foods compared with the overall number of daily calories, could also help people make sure they remember to get enough phytochemicals during their regular meals and snacks.
“We need to find a way to encourage people to pull back on fat and eat more foods rich in micronutrients and trace minerals from fruits, vegetables, whole grains and soy,” said Vincent.
Fill your plate with colourful, low-calorie, varied-texture foods derived from plants first. By slowly eating phytochemical-rich foods such as salads with olive oil or fresh-cut fruits before the actual meal, you will likely reduce the overall portion size, fat content and energy intake.
In this way, you”re ensuring that you get the variety of protective, disease-fighting phytochemicals you need and controlling caloric intake,” Vincent added.
For the study, the researchers examined a group of 54 young , analyzing their dietary patterns over a three-day period, repeating the same measurement eight weeks later. The participants were broken into two groups: normal weight and overweight-obese.
the two groups consumed about the same amount of calories, overweight-obese  consumed fewer plant-based foods and subsequently fewer protective trace minerals and phytochemicals and more saturated fats.
Leafy Greens foodThey also had higher levels of oxidative stress and inflammation than their normal-weight peers, Vincent said. These processes are related to the onset of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and joint disease, she added.
Diets low in plant-based foods affect health over the course of a long period of time. This is related to annual weight gain, low levels of inflammation and oxidative stress. Those are the onset processes of disease that debilitate people later in life,” Vincent said.
Oxidative stress occurs when the body produces too many damaging free radicals and lacks enough antioxidants or phytochemicals to counteract them.
Leafy GreensBecause of excess fat tissue and certain enzymes that are more active in overweight people, being obese can actually trigger the production of more free radicals, too.
Because many phytochemicals have antioxidant properties, they can help combat free radicals, Vincent said.
Phytochemicals include substances such as allin from garlic, lycopene from tomatoes, isoflavones from soy, beta carotene from orange squashes and anythocyanins from red wine, among others.

Puerto Rico is a self governing state and comprises of small islands. This area is on the west of Virgin Islands and is located in Northeastern Caribbean Sea. Being overweight basically means having more body fat than is healthy for you. People are conscious about their weight regardless being over weight or not. Weight is a serious issue because it determines the health of a person. However, certain diseases and medical conditions can make it difficult for the body to tolerate even a moderate fat, so a fat free dieting may help people with these conditions.
For a standard healthy diet, it is suggested that 30% of the total calories eaten should comprise of fat. Fat free dieting should be well balanced and well planned. White House strategy to Prevent AIDS


Treatment of AIDS is an ongoing research but latest strategy that the White House wants to adopt involves domestically preventing the spreading of AIDS. The main aim is to broaden the use of preventative drugs and tests but the campaign also focuses on decreasing the shame involved with the disease.
This strategy will be released under the Obama administration on Tuesday and will focus on preventing from spreading and diminishing the disparities of affected people. This plan will be a base for decision making for most of the agencies and institutions involved with the prevention of AIDS. A statement released by the White House presents a focus not only on the prevention but also in reducing the spreading and most importantly diminishing the discrimination that HIV positive people face.

Statistics reveal that only 5% of the affected people transfer the virus but that is still a high number. PEPFAR is a global program by the government of US against AIDS but no such lucid policy or strategy is seen domestically. However this program was also criticized for only focusing on spreading awareness rather than stressing on preventions such as condoms. The new strategy by Obama administration plan focuses on three main aspects of AIDS: 1) reducing the percentage of HIV spreading, 2) providing care and innovative health facilities for infected people and 3) reduce the number of HIV health related discriminations.

According to estimation it has been deduced that one in every five American is obese. Obesity refers to a condition of weighing more than 30 percent above the model weight based on height. What is more disturbing is the fact that rates of obesity in childhood have doubled and overweight children have been diagnosed with illnesses such as sleep apnea, respiratory illnesses and diabetes that in the past were only diagnosed on adults.
The costs that occur for obesity related illnesses are increasing day by day and people are looking to blame the ever growing Fast Food industry. In the light of competition against other fast food restaurants and chains, each restaurant comes up with new cheap deals like all you can eat or large double burger with extra fires and the like. These deals are widely acknowledged and accepted by people with limited cash as they prove thrifty. However consuming such fatty food on a regular basis is what contributes to the fast growing obesity amongst adults and children alike.
Pizzas, burgers, pies, large plates of French fries refilled drinks and Chinese take away are some of the most common food people consume. But not many stop to consider if what they are eating is healthy or not. Do many people even know what the ingredients in Chinese takeaway noodles are or perhaps how much spices and oil that juicy burger contains? Lower Risk of Breast Cancer with Fish Oil

According to a study that was published it is observed that women who have an intake of fish oil may have lower rates of being diagnosed with breast cancer. However the study is undergoing research and there is no definite proof of the fish oil being the actual remedy. A study was conducted with over 35000 women all in postmenopausal state and those with regular consumption of fish oil supplements were found less likely to develop breast cancer in coming years.
A lower risk of breast cancer was seen even in the susceptible women such as older, heavy drinkers and obese women. This proves to some extent that despite the fact that these women support the risk factors they are still safe from the breast cancer because of the fish oil consumption. The study still lacks definitive proof and facts and is all but an observational study. According to Dr. Emily White this study compares the risk of developing the disease with the usage of the supplements and can not produce a definite cause and effect result.
Despite the positive response of the study it is too soon to decide to include fish oil as a regular part of diet for postmenopausal women. Once the study is put into a series of clinical tests and the response is positive then fish oil supplements can be recommended for regular use. Emily White referred to a clinical test that will be conducted by Harvard University to determine the affects of vitamin and fish oil supplements on the risk of developing cancer and stroke. The study is backed by the definite positive effects of fish and fish oil that have been seen in lowering blood fats such as triglycerides, heart attack, stroke and high blood pressure. Experts usually recommend that fatty fish such as salmon and trout are good for the health of the adults.

Bol Pakistani Movie

Zainub (Humaima Malik) is sentenced to death. Mustafa (Atif Aslam) advises her to tell everyone her story before she dies. She is allowed a last wish by the President of Pakistan and she tells her story to a large gathering of media.
She says that during the partition of the subcontinent her family migrated from Delhi to Lahore. Her parents had a lot of daughters and then her mother (Zaib Rahman) gave birth to a child who is a hermaphrodite. Due to her family’s deteriorating financial situation, Her father Hakim Sahib(Manzar Sehbai) wants to kill the child at its birth but the mother doesn't let him. The child, named Saif Ullah, is home-schooled by a master and becomes very skilled at sketching. Though he is immensely disliked by Hakim Sahib.
Zainub gets married and then divorces because she refuses to have a child due to her husband’s financial situation. Meanwhile Zainub’s mother keeps getting pregnant with babies who are still born. Zainub gets tubal ligation done on her mother to prevent future pregnancies. Hakim Sahib finds out about the surgery and is furious with Zainub.
Zainub discovers Saif Ullah while he’s wearing a woman’s clothes and is greatly perturbed by this and consults with Mustafa about Saifi. Mustafa takes Saifi to a guy who is in charge of drawings/paintings on trucks. Saifi is teased by perverts there and returns home after work crying his eyes out. Zainub tells him to be brave and that their father would be very happy when he sees Saifi’s earnings.
Saqa Kanjar(Shafqat Cheema) asks Hakim Sahib to teach Nazra Quran to children in his household. Upon finding out that Saqa is a Kanjar, Hakim Sahib denies his request. Saifi is tricked into getting inside a truck at work and is raped by several men at the painting place where he works. Mustafa arrives at the scene but is fooled by the men there into believing that Saifi has left for home. Saifi is found later that night by a shemale and is returned to his house. Hakim Sahib, upon learning that his son was raped, chokes and kills his son with a plastic bag, but not before Zainub sees him doing it.
A police officer asks Hakim Sahib for 2 lacs in bribe if Hakim wants his son’s postmortem reports to remain a secret (so that people may not find out about his son’s gender). Hakim Sahib is forced to give the police officer the sum of money a masjid committee entrusted him with for building a mosque. Hakim Sahib is then forced to go to Saqa Kanjar to teach Quran to earn money to pay back his debts. At home Hakim Sahib washes and irons the notes of money Saqa gave him in advance, considering them dirty.
Mustafa smuggles Ayesha (Mahira Khan), Mustafa’s love interest and singing partner, to a concert where they both sing. Later Hakim Sahib is asked by Mustafa’s father for his daughter’s hand, but he says no pointing out that he wouldn’t marry his daughter in a Shiah family.
The Masjid committee asks Hakim Sahib for their money back. Hakim then goes to Saqa who proposes that Hakim should have a daughter with Saqa’s daughter (Iman Ali) for money. Saqa would keep the child if it was a girl and Hakim could take it if it was a boy. Hakim agrees to this, but asks Saqa not to disclose this pact.
Mustafa and Ayesha, and Hakim Sahib and Mina (Iman Ali), get married simultaneously. When Hakim Sahib returns home after spending the night with Mina, Zainub tells him that she got Mustafa and Ayesha married. Hakim goes crazy with anger and beats her up.
A reporter while listening to zainub's story finds her innocent before zainub ends the story. The reporter calls up a guy who works with the President to get the death sentence postponed or get the case reopened. But he denies any help.
Hakim Sahib tells his friends at the Masjid committee that he is very fed up with his daughter Zainub, and that either of them would die at the hands of the other. The reporter calls the official again and pressurizes him to release Zainub.
Meanwhile Mustafa passes his exams and becomes a doctor. Mina tells Hakim that she had a brother from her father’s first (chaste) wife (the step brother turns out to be Hakim Sahib himself).
The reporter calls the ministry official again.
Hakim Sahib and Mina have a daughter. He asks Mina to give their daughter to him and he’ll leave the city to keep her safe from the kanjars. Saqa overhears this and kicks Hakim out of his house. He tells Hakim that if he ever tried to take the baby girl away he would take all his daughters and turn them into cheap prostitutes.
Later Mina comes to Hakim sahib’s place to give him his daughter. Upon finding out who the child is Hakim’s wife fights with him and he beats her up. She then tells her daughters about their father’s shameful acts. Zainub tells her father that they will all leave the house the following day and if he tried to stop them she will kill him.
Saqa Kanjar arrives at Hakim sahib’s place with some men and crashes open the main door. Hakim sahaib tries to kill his baby girl to save her from Saqa but is killed by a fatal blow on the head by Zainub. Saqa and his men search the house for the baby. He asks Zainub where the baby was and she replies that her father killed the baby and had disposed the body.
The police officer in charge of Zainub’s death tells the reporters that it was time for them to leave.
Zainub says that she took revenge from her father for giving birth to her. She questions why only killing someone is a crime and why giving birth is not. She asks that why was having legitimate children and then making their life hell is right, but having illegitimate children wasn’t. She asks that if parents who couldn’t adequately provide for their children give birth to them. She argues that giving birth to children one can’t afford should be a considered wrong and a crime too.
Zainub is then hanged.
The reporter, Rashda, speaks on the news about what Zainub had just said.
The president calls a meeting about what Zainub had just questioned.
The movie ends up showing Zainub's family struggling by opening a small restaurant outside their palace looking house. The daughters of the hakim make it possible to earn in a respectable way. They slowly but gradually builds up a cafe named "Zainab's cafe" which helps them to raise their living standard. The hakim sisters finally makes it big with a small start. They also takes care of the their eighth sister that they saved from her father's brutality.
