Fast Food and Obesity

According to estimation it has been deduced that one in every five American is obese. Obesity refers to a condition of weighing more than 30 percent above the model weight based on height. What is more disturbing is the fact that rates of obesity in childhood have doubled and overweight children have been diagnosed with illnesses such as sleep apnea, respiratory illnesses and diabetes that in the past were only diagnosed on adults.
The costs that occur for obesity related illnesses are increasing day by day and people are looking to blame the ever growing Fast Food industry. In the light of competition against other fast food restaurants and chains, each restaurant comes up with new cheap deals like all you can eat or large double burger with extra fires and the like. These deals are widely acknowledged and accepted by people with limited cash as they prove thrifty. However consuming such fatty food on a regular basis is what contributes to the fast growing obesity amongst adults and children alike.
Pizzas, burgers, pies, large plates of French fries refilled drinks and Chinese take away are some of the most common food people consume. But not many stop to consider if what they are eating is healthy or not. Do many people even know what the ingredients in Chinese takeaway noodles are or perhaps how much spices and oil that juicy burger contains? Not to mention the pizzas those are available in any and every topping. Food should be eaten in a healthy way to ensure that the quantity of fat consumed is limited. Fats are the major cause of obesity as they trigger the production of high glucose in the liver.
However to completely blame the fast food industry for obesity is not justified. While eating fast food may be a contributing factor to being over weight and obese they are no way responsible for it. If a person is aware of how many calories a simple burger and a plate of fries contain then he can burn the same amount or more calories. This way eating the burger will not affect his health in a negative way. Obesity arises with the increased intake of fats by people, however if people eat and burn the fat then there is no risk of obesity.
Exercising is therefore essential to regularly do. A person who regularly does exercise and has adequate physical activity can easily stay clear of obesity and subsequent diseases even if they regularly consume fast food. Diabetes, colon cancer, high blood pressure, cardio infraction and other heart diseases are very much instigated with obesity. Therefore if you do not have time or due to any reason you do not get enough exercise on a daily basis then it is better to stay clear from fatty food.
Simple dietary changes such as reducing the intake of fast food and increasing more cooked meals, reducing the excessive consumption of sugar and including milk and fresh juices are a sure and simple way to reduce the chances of obesity. People should engage themselves in some sort of physical activity every day, such as walks or small games such as basket ball in the back yard to ensure that they stay active and not sluggish. Fast food is a contributing factor but is certainly not the cause of obesity, if people take necessary precautions. People can enjoy the pizzas and burgers and all the other fast food as long as they have some exercise and not let the fat from the food consume their body. If you eat fatty food and not let it get to your body then you are safe from obesity and its subsequent diseases.
